You didn’t think I would forget about those gluten free neighbors out there this Thanksgiving, did you? I am still testing out the gluten-free world of pie, but have discovered this full-flavored, perfectly flakey classic pumpkin pie that will rival a floured version any day. Okay, so Pizza Friday really originated from the fact that my dear BF, Alex, and I had an insatiable craving for pizza every Friday night. We played the, “What do you want for dinner?” game for quite some time before we were just honest with each other and acknowledged that pizza was truly the only answer. Our relationship hit the next level when we came to this mutual understanding.
Living a gluten-free life provides its challenges, but pizza really is not one of them. The world must have also recognized the necessity of Pizza Friday and has supplied us gluten-intolerant beings with a multitude of options. Having taste-tested my way through the majority of chains and local joints, I have found a few favorites. Continue reading “Pizza Friday”
The holidays have been so wonderful for my entire family this year. I witnessed a proposal. Continue reading “Persian Nougat (Gaz)”
Sometimes life is hard. Like really hard, and you just want to be mean and bitter and do things in your own interest and forget about the rest of the world, but all that does is turn you into a grouch and make life that much harder. One of my favorite quotes comes from that wise old bearded philosopher, Plato. Continue reading “Gluten-Free Apple Cider Donuts”
But seriously, how amazing it is to have your best friend literally ask you to become a part of their family. They must like me. Or maybe it’s the wand. In either case, I could not be more honored.
Their recent baby shower got me thinking about my favorite children’s book. Did anyone ever read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? Continue reading “Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies”
After a bit of a hiatus, I’m back in the kitchen! It has been a crazy few months. Let me fill you in. I have a brand new job as an account manager at a marketing company and have been learning a lot about horses, Wiffle ball, and tour operators in the process. And oh ya, I have a gluten allergy. When and how this happened I don’t know, but I am embracing it and taking it as an opportunity to test out some gluten free goods.
Yelp must know of my recently discovered gluten allergy based on the number of searches I have done for nearby gluten-free pizza in the last month. Omission Pale Ale and IPA have made being a gluten intolerant beer lover possible. Thank you.
